Environmental Protocols

Protecting our native and endemic flora and fauna is a major priority for us on Norfolk, as this not only affects the beauty of our natural world, but also our food security and the healthy balance of our ecosystem.  We ask that you join us on our mission to ensure our island paradise remains healthy for many generations to come. Sustainable Waste Management

Our isolation on Norfolk is one of our endearing qualities, although it does create a major challenge for on-island waste management.

Our new recycling centre opened in August 2023, and we’re continually working to improve our recycling capacity on Norfolk.  Please help us by sorting effectively, reducing your waste where possible, and learning about what happens to your waste as the Norfolk Wave Recycling Centre.

 Cultural Etiquette

As a visitor to Norfolk, we believe that your time on Norfolk will be enriched by engaging respectfully with our beautiful culture and traditions. We love to share our island and heritage with yorlye (you all), though there are some things that you can do to help us retain our cultural integrity and also our peaceful way of life. Click on the images below to learn more.
